truth on tuesday

Whining is like rocking in a rocking chair. It might give you something to do, but it gets you nowhere.

Coco is Taylor's christmas present. He's so cute and I am in love with him. Yes, I love a dog. It is hard to believe, I know. But I do.
This is him when he arrived this weekend.

We miss him already. Isn't he just a snuggle bug?

It has seemed like forever since we have seen the kids and they were able to come for a short visit this weekend. My main man and I decided to really take it up a notch and show them the rowdy side of bountiful: The local bowling ally. Need I say more? I know you're all super jealous...

p.s. that's their cousin kate in front of jordan... she was our "ball organizer"

I wanted to freshen up the place today. Ry is coming home tomorrow and I'm excited. Not that he will notice or really appreciate the fresh flower arrangements that are randomly placed throughout the house... but I will.... and it makes my heart happy.

Four people I think will or I would like to respond: Mij, Rocko, Kathy, Chal Four movies I would watch over and over: what about bob?, everafter, pride and predjudice, titanic Four places I have lived: ontario oregon, massillon ohio, buenos aires argentina, salt lake city utah Four tv shows I watch: the bachelor, american idol, deal or no deal, desperate housewives Four websites I visit daily: yahoo, america first credit union, an array of blogs, and thats it... Four things I always carry with me: lip gloss.. lots of colors, tide stick, stack of multiple gift cards, camera Four random facts about me: i can't pass the bathroom without making sure the toilet seat is down and if it isn't, i have to put it down, i make my bed every morning, i don't have a middle name, i can burp on command... although i have polished myself up over the years and do not expose this side of me much at all anymore.

this ones for you chal

I have been thinking and worrying a lot lately about the progress of little t. That would be my best friend's one year old baby. He is not developing at a rapid enough pace. Today, when I was at TTV, I purchased a little gift for her in hopes to give her a little nudge in the teaching of the tot. They are finger puppets... all animals. Chal, please! I am helping you help him!! Teach that son of yours his animal sounds! Gosh dangit! (for all you other readers out there... i know i have millions of followers: this is an inside joke)

i noticed...

This morning on my way to the gym I noticed the frozen dew on the grass. It made me happy to see the sun shining down making the earth sparkle.

It was such a pretty, crisp morning. The hope of warmth is slowing creeping into our valley...

I noticed that Ten Thousand Villages has moved! Come to find out, they relocated last July! I could not believe it had been that long since I had visited last. If you have never been, you have got to go. It is a non profit organization that sells things from villages all over the world. From my understanding, most profits go back to the villagers who make the goods so that it can provide some sort of income for these less fortunate countries. I love, love, love that store. Go take notice!

I noticed that there are a lot of cool shops on 900 South between 1100 East and 900 East in SLC. I went to a few. If you ever need a cool gift.. be it most ANY type gift, go to Charlottes. Although the owner is a real snatch, the manager is very personable and kind. Just ignore the "man lady" that you may see wandering the store. She doesn't want to talk to you anyway! Fly fishing gear anyone? Go to Western Rivers Flyfisher. The guys in there were so nice and helpful. They sold me a real cool shirt for Ry... hope you like it baby! (PS.. they were the ones to gossip about the snatchy owner next door. He he!!) Then of course there's an old fav to SL... Hip and Humble. Can't go wrong there, lots of cool knacks and knicks and the sort. I got a few vintage-ish magnets, and made a mental list of many things I would like to get someday. Then one of my fav stops...The Square Nest. It was mostly my favorite because of AnnaRuth. She works there. Stop in to meet her. She has red hair, a wonderful texan accent, and the most friendly personality. Plus, there's real neat stuff in that place. I am a suckor for cards.. unique ones. I like to write and I like to give cards away, but I want them to be different. I found some there and I bought probably 20.... couldn't resist. I got a wood wick candle there too. The wick is wood, nifty eh? It crackles as it burns and sounds like a fire. Can't wait to try it out! After that, I ran out of time. I could have walked all over, but I will save more adventures for another day!
I noticed this afternoon that my nephew Zach is pretty gosh darn talented in the acting department. I went and watched his class preform a play called The 12th night... (i think?..) Way to go bud! You did a fab job! Guys, seriously he had one of the leads and he was completely teriffic! More preformances to come this week, if you want to see his debut!

Finally, this evening I noticed how quiet and still our home is with out my main man here with me. He is on a business trip for the whole week. I miss him already. No sports on tv, no one to yell across the house at to "come here for a sec! I gotta show you this email!", no re caps of the day to share, no soda cans or microwave dinner containers or cereal bowls to clean up all over the house, no socks or boxers or shoes or pants or belts or shirts to pick up in the bathroom or the hall or under the table or behind the couch or in the couch or my favorite: on the kitchen counter... Nope, none of that..... Just boring me. Ry, I really do love you, all of you.

That's what I noticed today..... What did you notice?

Spring for a photo? PLEASE!!!!

Gayle, my mother-in-law is an avid picture taker. Everyone who knows her, knows that it is rare to find her without her camera in tote. She photographs everything. I for one, enjoy the idea of "capturing the moments", and love photography in general.... But, there are some in my new family that do not feel the same way, and absolutely dread all the photo opts that are created at each family gathering. So, when Gayle informed the fam that her only wish for mother's day was to get us all together for a family photo... you can imagine the moanings, groanings, and gnashing of teeth that followed the request.... But, alas, we gathered together this past Saturday morning for our family photo. We shall see how it turns out... stay tuned....

After we left, Ryan and I went to lunch with the in-laws and his bro Matt and wife Jennifer. We were right by all the lovely flowers on Temple Square:

Happy Spring! I am so excited for this sunshine to stick around for more than a day!

turning the page to 32...

April 9th 2008......

I decided that this year would be different! I was not going to work on my birthday, like I usually do if it falls on a weekday. I planned ahead and scheduled my clients differently so that I could have a Wednesday off. It was heavenly...
I woke up to my husbands gifts of a new camera.. the perfect one that I have been wanting.. a beautiful boquet of flowers arranged especially by him, and a plate full of my favorite V Chocolate's chocolate covered strawberries. yummmm!!!

I then went to meet Chal at Private Design,
(our business we have together)
and she gave me a fabulous facial. I was way
over-do and in dire need. It felt so good, and
I was so relaxed. Thanks Chal! You are the
BEST!!!

Then off to Fratelli we went where she treated me to a fabulous lunch. If you have not been there you must try them. Check out their site by clicking on my link.

After lunch, it was back to PD for quickie pedi's... again, we were both in dire need! It is something we offer to clients every day, but rarely get to indulge ourselves. ...the service provider always comes last!

While we were back at the salon, one of my wonderful friends, Kathy Woody sent over this amazing edible fruits arrangement. What a nice suprise! It was so cool, and everyone who saw it thought so too! Thanks Kathy!! I love you!

AHHHH.... and then the most relaxing part of my whole birthday... Ryan took me to dinner around 5:30, and after dinner, thanks again to my 3TG BFF Chal, we were off to the Kura Door, a japanese holistic day spa in the avenues. There we were treated to a 50 min ofuro mineral bath, then an hour couples massage, followed by some relaxation time in the steam room. We were there about 3 hours. What a perfect way to end my first day of 32! Ryan was such a trooper too. At first he was not so thrilled about going to have these treatments done, but now he's hooked, and is asking when we can go back!
For all of you who think getting older is not so glamorous, just indulge in life and live; age comes no matter what!

craving

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am most at home in the sun, preferrably on the beach... so it should come to no suprise that today I have been longing for the water, WARM sun and the beach. Maybe it is the ever teasing weather here in Utah that has got me craving the warmth of the sun and the sounds of the water crashing onto the rocks. AHH! There is nothing quite like a bit of heaven on earth.... THE BEACH!!!! (That is, with my most favorite man on the planet, Ry guy....)
