family reunion

It was Raenie's turn this time to plan our family reunion held every third year. St. George was chosen as the destination, and Ruthie's Retreat as the venue. It turned out to be a fun filled time with lots of each day spent in the pool, as the heat was ever so intense! The cousins played well together, and Dare was so sad when it was over! He misses his Colorado cousins a ton! It was fun to have Taylor and Dave and the boys come stay for a few nights as well!

Gary Barnson, in true random form, decided one day that it was a good idea to give Gordy a friend.  A wild one that he found out at Farmington Bay.  I was against this.  Ryan said it would be fine.  Dare promptly named her Shelly.  

Shelly terrorized poor Gordy, and like I predicted, it was clear that Gordy didn't need or want a friend.  Even a girlfriend.  She bullied him out of his home, and made his quiet life a living hell.  I could tell.  So, the first time she escaped the pond, I was happy.  Until she was returned.  Then the second time she escaped, I was relieved.  Until she was found and returned.  So, the third time she escaped, Ryan was finally on the same page as me, and agreed that even if someone claimed to have found her, that we will not claim her as ours, and she can go back to being wild!  So far she hasn't been  found.  And Gordy is back to being perfectly happy as an only turtle child!

Shona's long awaited day has finally arrived! It's been the talk and the drama for a long while now...so we are nothing but happy for Andrea and Rog!! 

And, of course, super happy for the newlyweds too!!

huge scare

We received the scariest news on Saturday that Aislyn was in a serious ATV accident, and was rushed to Primary's.  It was awhile before I could connect with Nan's. and before I knew the severity of her injuries and plight, I didn't want to share much with Dare.  Late Saturday night I received news that she was stable, and going to survive, so early Sunday morning (fathers day) we headed to PCMC to visit our sweet girl, before heading down to St George for the Foutz Family Reunion. We were so happy we could see her, and not only  know that she was going to live and recover, but to also see her strength shine through her pain, and feel her spirit.  She's a good one, that little brave soul.

The day finally arrived for me to cash in on my birthday gift! Front row to the NKOTB concert!  something I would have only dreamed about as a teenager....WAIT!  I DID dream about this as a teenager!  It was so fun, and Chal was the best sport!

There's lots of enthusiasm in this kid surrounding the fact that he can now make s'mores anytime he wants (so he thinks) because he has his own backyard fire table, and it's open again for the season!
