good company

I decided to host a little party for a few of us girls from work so we could socialize.  We never get to do that at work.  Miss Tara was so great to come early and help me get it organized and ready before everyone came.  She is so good to me.  I really love that girl!

It was silly and fun and great to just visit and relax in good company.

survived

It was a torturous week at work.  But, I did it.  I survived.  I think I am going to make it.  I really do. The throbbing is minimal now, and I can bend it just a bit.

broken

Who done it?
Mr. Bailey, in the doorway of the guest bathroom, unaware of the finger in the door frame, slamming it hard, trying to fend me off from attacking him.  (don't worry all you Jerry Springer fans, it wasn't over a cheating husband, it was better than that!)
evidence of blood still on the paint
i hope i can work on monday. i can't even bend it.

winter: shoo

My friend Steph is a landscape design architect, and last fall we had her draw up design plans for both our front and back yards.  Although I do not love yard work, I do love a good transformation.  And, that is exactly what our yard needs.  A huge, loving transformation.  Steph's plans, once implemented, will do just that.  I cannot wait for this winter gloom to skedaddle.  I am ready to dig in, clean up, plant, and beautify.  Now, if I can just mentally survive one more month....

fundraiser for nsl

A small joy of  living in a small city, where the cops only have 5 streets to patrol. (well, maybe a few more than 5...) A parking ticket issued to our friends car, parked right in front of OUR own home!  Whatev!!
Maybe we're the ones who should have done our homework, but did you know there is no street parking from Nov 1-Apr 1?
Weird.  But funny.
On the bright side, I do love the Internet.  Problem solved in 3 min flat.
paid in full.
To make myself feel good about our donation, I would like to imagine that the 30 bucks went to a really noble cause sponsored by NSL city itself.
Ha!

it started at dojo

Girls Night.  We started at Kelly's restaurant: Dojo.
So good, so fun.
 and then went to Johnny's.
we laughed, were silly, and danced our little hearts out til the lights went on, and they told us we had to go home
a toast to randomness, and to more fun nights to come.

Bogey has a new cousin.
Welcome to the family, Oreo.
He's just as mellow and good natured as Boges, and they love eachother already.
(carmen and her family adopted bogey's actual 'brother' on sunday.  the 2 dogs have the same parents)
