wedding

I have been meaning to post this for awhile now, but I kept forgetting. On May 24 2008, my friend Hailee got married. Here is a photo of her and her man Brant. And here is the bride with her crazy sister Carolyn whom we all love and adore... there is a party right behind her wherever she is and I have so much fun with her. Ryan was very entertained... here we are posing with the beautiful bride Carolyn and me "feelin' the beat"
Now you can see the fun really began, because Ry's got his dancin' shoes on!

We had a great time! Congrats Hailee and Brant, and thanks for such a fun evening!

up!

I got up! To most out there, you're probably thinking "big deal, I can do that!" but not so much in my case. I am a klutz. As Ryan likes to say "my clumsy little girl". Because of this quality, I am a little slow and I seldom get up. Be it slalom, wake board, or surf... it's a real challenge. This time I was determined, so as the Wrights say "I got my mind right" and just popped right out of the water, both times. No bloopers as usual. Well, I guess the bloopers were the two head dives into the water, leaving my head pounding, and ending my wake boarding for the day. But, I will be back up there, because now I have my mind right!

Here we are on the back of the boat tanning our cellulite.

echo

Thanks Chal and Ben for another fun day at the lake. We met them up there on Saturday and seriously just laid around on the boat all day. It was such a pretty day with not many people crowding the water, so we fully enjoyed our sunshine, water, and surf time. (not me, just the other 3 birds are talented enough to get up on the surf board)

fountains

A few Sunday's ago we decided to be kids after we had lunch on the patio and go play in the gateway fountains. Ry was mad at me for being a wuss, I didn't want to get my hair wet. I know... get over it! Next time I will "let my hair down"

He was SOAKED!!

congrats

A big shout to Brooklyn (Lucy to me) and Christian on your recent plans for marriage in the fall. I can't wait for all the preps and festivities to begin. I am especially looking forward to standing at attention on the holy land and then marching to the beat of the nazi beauty queens as I submissively follow orders (willingly of course) in the preps of the big day. I already have butterflies in my tummy at the anticipation of the days to come! Luc, you know I will help like a good little soldier girl does... anything for the love birdies.

I love you guys and my heart is so happy for you both!

thrift 2

I found another project. Again, Ryan thought it was so ugly, and even after I finished, he still is not convinced. But, I have a vision for it. It will be in one of our bedrooms in our new home. New home, you say? Well, we don't have one quite yet, we have not even looked. But, we will have one in the not too far future and a few projects here and there in prep for that day... well, it keeps me busy when my ADD kicks in.
Before:
After:
See, I don't even have a place for it! It is in the office and in the way of the closet. Ryan says "NO MORE JUNK!" If you saw it in person, you too would fall in love.

results

Remember back in the spring when I said "stay tuned" for the family photo results...? Well, here you have it ladies and gents... the bailey family photo. Just the parents, kids and spouses that is.

and the winner is...

Tonight was poker night at Sharon's house. The competition was heated, the stakes were high, the faces were stone cold, and the bets were ON! I pretty much bullied Gary (AKA G-Licious) out of the game... sorry GL! But, shortly after he left I lost my stash too!

The last three standing were Brock, Kim, and Ryan. Brock took home a measly 20 bones, Kim was runner up, AND....
Ry took the cake. Here he is proudly showing his winnings.
Game on for next month! Right everyone?!?

stacy and cory: you pretty much rock!

Every year our friends Stacy and Cory throw a summer party. It's fun. Really fun. A huge crowd arrives on top of the world where they live and you just never know who you will meet and become fast friends with. Here is Jamey kicking Ryan's trash in a quick game of pool.
Me, Stacy, Jenny, Jamie, Jessica, and Amber... Having a girl moment.

Ryan's friend Jenny (a blast from the past that he hasn't seen in years... small world!) posing with Stacy's husband Cory.

These are just a few photos that don't really do the evening justice. Hopefully Stacy will have her photos on her blog soon. I know she took a lot more! Thanks guys! You threw a great bash!

jazz fest

Friday evening we decided to venture on over to the jazz festival at Washington square in SLC. We hopped on our new locomotive the frontrunner, then grabbed trax and arrived. You just never know what you may encounter at a public gathering and we just wanted to indulge.
We were not disappointed...
just relaxing and enjoying the ambiance, people, nice summer weather, and Jack Jones with the SLC orchestra singing the theme song from the "Love Boat" and watching our friend dance and really "feel" the music.. Here he is in the yellow, but scroll down and watch the video clip that Ryan took of him... It was quite hilarious and we were pretty much gut laughing.

The first part is kind of shaky, but hold on, it gets better!

Here is the Wallace Roney Quintet preforming... but the best part of the performance was what was sitting right in front of us:

Yes, she is a female. And yes, that is her braid. And yes, although you can't see them, she was wearing Dickie's. And no, she did not get those mardi gras beads from us!

Good times at the Jazz Fest! Wanna come with us next year? There is never a dull moment when we venture out together, and the more the merrier!

kel

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY!

Kelly and I go way back. She is probably my longest standing friend... we had a lot of good times together growing up in ohio and even as we got older and moved on. She is a great person and one of my favorite people. She is one of those friends that you can just pick up with where you left off like you haven't been apart. I miss you Kel and wish we lived closer! I wish you a very happy birthday!!

my girls...minus one ;(

We went to lunch with mom on Friday. I am sad that the flash didn't go off cuz it's not that great of a photo. But, here we are... We miss you Raenie!

private design

Sometimes I think I forget how fortunate I am to be in the line of work that I am in, to have the amazing clients I have, AND the best business partner, co-worker, and friend in the world. So, here's a shout to anyone who has anything to do with private design... mostly to the clients who make our days, Liv who graces us with her presence every Tuedsay, and to Chal my ever consistent and unconditional friend!
I love you guys!

cuatro de julio

Happy 4th of July!
Our day started out with the Centerville parade that passed right by our home. It was probably one of the most happening events of the year in this large metropolis that we live in! I forgot to grab my camera to capture some of the sights because my husband kept insisting that I "hurry up! the parade is going to start!" We did run into a few old friends which was nice, and family too. After the parade we were able to meet up with Ryan's good friends Kyle and Kim Christensen and their two kids for lunch. They were on their way back to Idaho and stopped to have a little visit with us. It was great to see them and catch up. Later in the evening it was off to Jared and Linda's for a traditional 4th of July BBQ. Thanks guys for hosting this year! Maybe next year it can be our turn! We had a good time and the food was amazing!
